Welcome to the Oval Centre The Oval Centre is a stunning building, designed on a sloping site as a multi purpose Community Centre and is the central focus for the residents of South Workington. The Centre is the HO of Salterbeck ACE and all the related OVAL businesses and activities and also rents office space to external agencies such as Impact Housing (the social landlord for much of Salterbeck), to the local CDRP team, and to The Hub, set up in 2005 to help increase the levels of social entrepreneurship throughout West Cumbria. The design of the Centre allows for great flexibility in hosting meetings and conferences of all sizes from 2 to 200 and of all types from informal sessions and training seminars through product launches to wedding receptions. All of these can be backed up with on-site catering that can be as simple or sophisticated as required and by full on licence facilities. Also available is a full range of audio visual equipment from Flip Charts to Electronic Whiteboard and Digital Projectors. The Oval Café has a Cybercafe area which includes 6 Broadband access computers and we have a number of lap-top computers available for hire also. Additionally the Centre is the booking point for our grass sports pitches and floodlit All Weather Pitch (both with full changing facilities). We have a 1600sqft fully equipped Fitness Suite with free weights and resistance machines plus a range of cardiovascular equipment - treadmills, steppers, cycles, rowers etc. The Centre has excellent free car parking for over 150 cars. |
