Mission Statement & Our Values and Principles

Salterbeck ACE has recently reviewed and updated it’s underlying beliefs and principles and incorporated them into two documents which all staff follow.

Mission Statement

Salterbeck ACE is a Company owned by the local community of Salterbeck.

Through it’s OVAL trading businesses and other activities and in partnership with suppliers and customers, we work to improve the quality of life of the residents of Salterbeck and the surrounding areas.

We directly provide and assist others to provide:
•	employment, training, community and leisure activities,
•	the means to bring in additional resources and to increase opportunities.

Our Values and Principles

Balancing Commercial and Community Activities

We will carry out 2 separate types of activity:
•	Commercial activities which maximise our income to ensure that ACE remains viable and
•	Activities which benefit our community

Both are equally important in achieving our objectives.

Respect, Dignity and Equality

We believe all should be treated fairly, with respect and dignity. People should have genuine choices in the issues that affect their lives.

We will treat all people equally.

Developing Our Community

We believe in the principles of partnership and local decision making.
We will support individuals and the community to have a greater say in the issues that affect their lives.

Encouraging User Involvement

We value our customers and the important contribution they make to our success.

We will encourage them to get involved in our decision making.

Staff and Committee Commitment

We value the differences and similarities between people.

We will encourage all those involved in ACE to take responsibility for their actions, for our organisation’s wellbeing and for our community’s future.
